With over two decades of experience in human sexuality and public health, Kim Canady is a nationally recognized HIV advocate, sexuality educator, and pleasure activist whose voice, presence, and truth are reshaping how we talk about wellness, identity, and healing.
Born HIV positive and having lost both parents to AIDS-related complications by the age of nine, Kim’s journey has never been theoretical—it’s personal, political, and revolutionary. She transformed her pain into purpose, becoming a powerful force in the HIV movement and a beloved educator across generations.
A Legacy of Impact
Kim is the founder of Conversations with Kim, a platform and educational series that centers Black and Brown communities, especially women and youth, in authentic conversations about sex, pleasure, consent, stigma, and health equity. Her approach is rooted in harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and radical honesty.
She has served as a trainer, researcher, keynote speaker, and consultant, working with national organizations, school systems, universities, and health institutions to bridge gaps in care, conversation, and culture. Whether in a boardroom, classroom, or community space, Kim facilitates with vulnerability, strategy, and joy.
